Life Information:
Born as Sathyanarayana Raju on Nov 23rd, 1926 in a village named Puttaparthi, located in Andhra Pradesh, India; Sathya Sai Baba was not like any other children in the village. His spiritual inclination and contemplative nature set him apart from other children of his age. He soon became popular as ‘Guru’ and ‘Brahmajnani’ (knower of Brahman or Godhead) in the village and neighborhood.October 20th, 1940 was the day when Sri Sathya Sai Baba made a historic avowal of his Avatarhood, (Avatar – Divinity Incarnate). Today, millions of devotees from all sections of the society and from all around the world, practicing different religion and faith, and from numerous walks of life worship Sri Sathya Sai Baba as an incarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi.
